Bonita Vox Box [Review]

Greetings & salutations…

Welcome to Another Cat’s Tale Podcast.

Below are some of the highlights to this podcast.

I received the BonitaVoxBox a few days ago.

Inside were a few products that I will need to review.

The products inside the box were…

  • SinfulColors Nail Polish. A new Porcelain Matte – “We’re All Matte Here” #1716. I really don’t know how to describe the color. Rose? I’m not too fond of this color or the matte formula. Maybe the polish is old, but the ridges in my nails can be really seen with this nail polish. And one coat is not enough, I applied 3 coats just to give the color more depth. Otherwise its too light to see. $2.99
  • Dickinson’s Enhanced Witch Hazel Alcohol free Hydrating Toner. It’s to used after you wash your face in the morning and apply at night. It smells pretty good. No alcohol smell, but it does remind me of the Dollar Store hairspray I bought once. It doesn’t burn my face after washing. Has a bit of a tightening effect, which feels good. I could continue to use this toner. Nice big bottle for $6.99.
  • Revlon Matte Lipcolor. It’s two samples of their new colors for 2016. “HD Obsession” which I’m wearing in the photo (selfie). The second color is “Blushing Mauve” which I will have to take a photo of soon, so you can see it. Not sure I will buy this lipstick, not because I don’t like it but the price is a bit much for my pocket. $8.99 Even with the coupon that I received.
  • Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownie. I’ve had Fiber One products before. Not too bad. I haven’t eaten this one yet, because when it arrived the temperature was somewhere around 90. The chocolate fudge brownie was pretty much liquid in the wrapper. I will eat it – eventually.
  • Madam CJ Walker Beauty Culture Dream Come True Wonderful Pre-Wash Protein Treatment & Madam CJ Walker Beauty Culture Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque. Two sample packets. Haven’t tried these yet. I wanna get my hair cut first, then use them. I’m sure I will enjoy them. As far as purchasing the product the bottles are $32 for a 6oz. I don’t think I have ever paid that much for a hair product.

Sinful Sunday

Thanks again to Influenster and Sally Hansen for providing me with the nail color that I used in the above photo. I won the below products in an Influenster contest. The nail color is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure #500 “Trouble Maker.”

I recently received a .04 oz sample of Reveal Cologne for men complimentary from Calvin Klein & Influenster for testing purposes. To provide my honest opinion of this product after using the Reveal Cologne.

This cologne was released just in time for Valentine’s Day, February 2015. Included with the VoxBox was a Calvin Klein card holder. Which seemed a bit on the cheaply made side. There is a cardboard feel inside the card holder. I can’t see a man using this item in a professional situation. It’s more of one of those cheap items tossed in a box as a “thank you for purchasing our product” kind of thing.

This is a unique fragrance. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it blindly. There is a playful, young sensation to this cologne. Along with a fresh and sensual feel to the cologne. I would not recommend an older man wearing this cologne during the day at the office. I would suggest wearing it at night time for the older man who is in a playful mood. The staying power of this cologne is long lasting. I used it during an evening out and it lasted more than 8 hours. However, the aroma did fade after a few hours, which had a better smell. It even stays on clothing which then smells more like a fresh scent than a fruity scent. There is also a hint of spice in this cologne.

Valentine's Day

I would not suggest using this cologne during the winter or summer seasons. Because of it’s fresh, fruity and lighter woody fragrance. It’s more of a spring time scent. Again I would say more for the younger man, who could wear it during the day or night. I noticed that there is no strong alcohol scent to this cologne. Strictly fruity, fresh and woody…almost a sweet fragrance. This is why I suggest that a person looking at this cologne to test it out first prior to purchasing it.

He smells good

This cologne was created by a few individuals. Marypierre JulienOlivier GillotinRodrigo Flores Roux were the ones who formulated this unique aromatic cologne for Calvin Klein. Reveal Cologne is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml versions of the Eau de Toilette. Prices range from $22 – $80 for this product.

Reveal is also available in a women’s cologne which has a diagonal cap verses the men’s version which has a horizontal cap. I have not yet tried the women’s version of Reveal.

ModaVoxBox [Product Review]

I received another Influenster Vox Box. This one is called the Moda Vox Box. Inside it contained some useful items such as…the Puffs Soft Pack. A new soft box of Puffs tissue. I took this item to work and placed it in my work vehicle. In this cold weather my nose drains and its great having the tissue handy. I like that the box is soft because I can make it fit in my storage box that sits on the doghouse of the vehicle.

Pass the Puffs

The following photos are all the items that were included in my Moda Vox Box. I was very satisfied with all the items in this box.

I’m a huge fan of the Rimmel London Brand. In my ModaVoxBox there were three Rimmel London products. The first was Scandaleyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara. I like this mascara just not as much as the Scandaleyes Retro Glam that I received complimentary in a previous Vox Box.  Next was the new Moisture Renew Lipstick followed by Moisture Renew Lip Liner.

I am very satisfied with the shade of “Berry Rose” #260. The color is bright and shimmers on my lips.
The size of the lipstick is compact & lightweight, fits in the palm of my hand. Perfect to carry in a pocket, clutch purse or even a coin purse.
Moisture Renew lipstick is long-lasting. I only did a retouch after eating. Even after licking my lips or rubbing my lips together the lipstick stays on. There is a pleasant aroma to the Moisture Renew lipstick, which I appreciate. I would buy this product again and recommend it to my friends. The Moisture lip liner works great when I can’t find a color to go with the shade of lipstick. Also the lip liner keeps the color from running. I love that, I can be kind of sloppy.

Who doesn’t like Hot Cocoa during the winter months? I sampled some of the new Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa.

Resource Water was refreshing while I raked some leaves in the back yard. I also had enough to finish it off at work. Good stuff. Better than tap water also there is no after taste like some bottled water has. YUK!

One of the best items was Hair Food by Clairol. A wonderful hair conditioner than left my hair shiny, silky and smooth the next day. It was kind of flat, no volume in my hair which makes it easy for me to wear a hat in the winter. I have extremely thick coarse hair, sometimes wearing a simple hat is impossible for me. But using Hair Food makes it easy. Sounds funny I know, but true for me. Plus it smells good. I will be buying this after I use up what I have left.

Lastly was Jergen’s Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer. I absolutely love this hand lotion, so much that I went and purchased a larger bottle for my husband for his very rough & dry hands. It worked wonders. Sadly, I forgot to take before & after photos of his hands. I keep some in my work vehicle and a small tube in my purse. Hand lotion is always welcome in the dry winter months.

Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa [Product Review]

Inside my “Moda Vox Box” from there was a sample packet of “Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa” instant hot chocolate. I just needed to add hot milk and any of my favorite toppings. No toppings here, I wanted to try it straight out of the packet.

Swiss MIss Simply Cocoa

One thing I noticed is that there are only 5 ingredients, no artificial ingredients are added.

After working outside, I was excited to finally taste Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa. How perfect! It was an interesting taste. There wasn’t a huge sugary taste. More like a natural taste. It would take a bit for me to get used to, due to my extreme sweet tooth.

Softlips & Bikini Ready [Review]

This is my fourth VoxBox. This is called the “Vitality Vox Box.”

Here are two of the products that were inside this box.

Below is a podcast giving the review. Background music provided by Jacques Bertram, Hopefall and Marcin Brzozowski

Softlips Cube

Distributed by The Mentholatum Company. This lip balm has a unique design. It’s a cube, with the balm supported by the lid. The concept is opposite of the standard lip balm products. Also comes in 3 different flavors (Pomegranate Blueberry, Fresh Mint, Vanilla Bean). Softlips product provides 5  lip cares in one. It hydrates, replenishes, smooths, protects and shines your lips.

What did I like:

  • is the unique cube design. The lip product is completely opposite of the standard lip care products [See Photo Gallery Below].
  • The scent of the Pomegranate Blueberry.
  • That I don’t use my finger to apply the product and then have to find a place to wipe my finger off on.
  • The smooth feeling that I get on my lips after applying it.

What I did NOT like:

  • Is that the product didn’t last long on my lips, had to reapply often.
  • Cube is uncomfortable to have in a jeans pocket.
  • Price – retails for $3.49

I would buy this if I was in desperate need for lip balm, which has happened in the past. I must have some sort of lip moisture on. I do not like chapped, dry lips. I wear it 24/7. I will probably keep my Softlips cube in my mechanics bag on my Harley. It will serve its purpose, sun protection & hydration. Those are the important things.

Bikini Ready Energy Gummies

Manufactured for Inergetics, Inc. These sugar-coated gummies aid in boosting your metabolism and increasing your energy. Only 45 calories per gummie. You get your vitamin B12 and caffeine and that’s where your energy comes from. This product is meant to be used with a healthy diet and an exercise program. A bottle of 50 gummies run about $15.

What I did like:

  • Is that the gummies really do give you that “burst” of energy. I ate them in the late afternoon to get me over that hump, carry me through the low part of the day when I wanna fall asleep.
  • Tastes pretty decent for 50 mg of caffeine. There is a slight bitter taste, but you do know it’s got few ingredients.
  • There are 3 different flavors inside the bottle. There are 50 gummies in the bottle.

What I did NOT like:

  • Nothing.

Would I buy this product in the future? Probably.

Vow Vox Box 2 [Review]

This is the second part of my Vow Vox Box product review.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. This product was very disappointing. It is a pretty color, however it is just too light. Maybe use this for french tip, in place of the white color. But I wouldn’t recommend it as a solid base color. This product states that it is 7  nail benefits in one bottle. A base coat, strengthner, growth treatment, color, top coat, chip-resistant, gel shine. I will say it doesn’t chip easily. Just not a big fan of the color. This sells around $5.50 up to $8.00. No I would not pay either price for this. The applicator brush is unique, because it’s flat. However, there are streaks when applying the first coat. It doesn take several coats to cover up the streaks. I would try another color of this particular nail product to see if the results are the same. There are 56 shades to choose from.

Tide to Go. This is a travel size instant stain remover. I’ve used this before. Loved it! It works great on the run. I keep on in my purse for emergencies. I use it as a pre-stain remover. I seen these sell for $1.00 and up. You can purchase 3 in a pack for around $8.00

Riley & Grey. Is a wedding website. Where couples can build their wedding website from scratch. This is a great thing to have so that any & all family & friends can view the beautiful & very special day for their loved ones. Here is a link for the FAQ page to give you an idea about the site. I will be giving this to my future daughter in law to set up for her & my oldest son to show off their southern wedding.

Vow Vox Box [Review]

My third vox box. Complimentary for testing purposes from

My third vox box. Complimentary for testing purposes from

I was excited to receive my third vox box from Influenster. This box is called the “Vow Vox Box” and this is what was inside.

Inside the Vow Vox Box

Inside the Vow Vox Box

  • Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream. This product is something I’ve always wanted to try, however never had the money to spend on it. The product states that in 8 weeks most dark spots on my face will be gone or faded. According to the jar, it should be applied in the morning and evening. I will say that this is worth the money (so far). It has a fresh, clean smell to it, almost like shampoo. There is no greasy feeling after it is applied. The cream can be worm underneath makeup and doesn’t have a heavy feeling. I have dark circles under my eyes from allergies. I’m tracking the progress on the lighten of those dark areas. I have seen this cream priced from as low as $18 and as high as $30.

  •  EcoTools Pure Complexion Sponge. The box was pretty simple, with details about the product and how to use it. When I first opened it, I felt the sponge. The sponge was rock hard. I thought “this is gonna hurt.” I held it under running water to moisten it up and it became soft. That was so cool. Lathered it up with my regular facial cleaner. Washed my face, it didn’t hurt at all, it worked very well. The sponge is made of 100% natural ingredients including Konjac, which is a plant native to Asia. The EcoTool sponge runs around $5.99. After use just let it air dry, it doesn’t go back to the original form. However, it does shrink up and get a bit hard. I was satisfied with this product and would recommend it.

  • Pure Silk Moisturizing Shave Cream. I have always enjoyed using this product. The shaving cream does leave my legs feeling smooth & silky. There are 7 varieties, mine was Raspberry Mist. I didn’t smell any scent of raspberry, just that shaving cream smell. There is a small (5 oz) & large (8 oz) cans. The cost is runs from $1.50 to $2.50. The small can fits great in a weekend or overnight bag. I would use this product again. All & all it works very well.
