Resource Water

Recently I received the Moda Vox Box from Influenster.com inside the box was a bottle of Resource Water. This company offers a unique service. You can have Resource Water delivered directly to your door. BUT sadly for me, after I entered my zip code into the search box I found out that Resource Water is NOT available for delivery in my area.

[I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.com]

My VivaVoxBox

I received my second Vox Box from Influenster.com. Below are the products I found inside the box.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

I tried the Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer first. It’s a spray body lotion.

  • Be careful when spraying it. Be aware of your your background because you’ll get lotion places you don’t want the lotion to be. (Suggestion: apply in the bathroom after a shower. Be careful not to get lotion on the floor because floor will get slippery)
  • Has a cocoa butter scent, reminds me of summer and the beach, sun tan lotion.
  • Is still somewhat stinky when dressing immediately after applying.
  • Skin is very smooth & soft. There is no greasy film afterwards. Just a slight stinky sensation to clothing. But to touch the skin after applying there is no slick, sticky or greasy feeling.

You can pick up this product for around $8. I would definitely use it during the summer. I would take it poolside,  applying some lotion to prevent dry skin after being exposed to pool chemicals and sunshine.

Vaseline Brand Spray And Go

Vaseline Brand Moisturizer Spray And Go

I received two bottles of Pure Ice nail polish.  One color is called “After Hours #274CP” It’s a pink-rose shade. Not necessarily a color I would have picked for myself. However, it does grow on me. I really liked that it doesn’t chip as easily as I expected it to. I am very hard on my nails (nail-biting habit). I did need about three coats. The second color is “It’s Complicated 1001” this nail polish is clear with multi-colored hexagon shaped confetti mixed in it. I would not wear this type of nail polish. The confetti pieces slide when you apply it. Sometimes you get a bunch of it in one area, you must paint over it to spread it over the nail.

There were the new Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths in the Viva Vox Box. Very similar to baby wipes, thicker than most brands. There are 25 towelettes in the package. This product is a bit pricey for only 25 towelettes. You can buy it for around $6. However average price for this type of product. The quality is towelette is much thicker than the cheaper brands. I like the hard plastic cover because it stays closed, better than the cheaper brands with just the sticky reseal cover. The towelettes will remain moist in this package. I did use one to remove my makeup after work. The towelette did remove most of the makeup. However, the towelette start to become what seemed to be fuzzy and stretched out looking. There isn’t a strong aroma of perfume or fragrance, slight hint of what smells like baby powder. I would recommend this as something to carry in an overnight bag or even in your purse. The cleansing cloths serve their purpose when you may need to freshen up during a hot summer.

I found some lip color. I love any product for my lips. New York Color Proof Twistable Lip Color. A shade called “South Ferry Berry #040” It’s a bright red shade. I love the way it smells, reminds me of a berry scent. What I don’t like is that it is a bit waxy, having a similar feel to a cheap lip balm. It’s a matte, so the color is not shiny, which I do like for a change. This product doesn’t last as long for me as some others because I do tend to lick my lips a lot and rub my lips together. This product will smear and stain your skin for a bit if you’re not paying attention. Like lipstick it will get on your teeth. It’s a twistable tube,  like a big crayon. Costs around $3 for any one of the 12 colors that are available.

The Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Peel-off mask was really good. I had used similar products in the past. However none are as thick as this product. The Manuka Honey Peel-off mask was very thick. I did have difficulty when I tried openly the pouch. There is a designated tore off spot. However when I did tear it off it wasn’t enough to squeeze out the product. I had to get scissors to finish opening the hole. I noticed that there was a lot of product inside. I applied it to my face, sat around for it to dry about 20 minutes. It is the neatest feeling to pull (peel) it off. Then to look at it, seeing the skin lines, dry skin. There was a tight feeling to my face afterwards, a bit dry. Only thing I didn’t like is that it was a one time use. There are so many other skin care products to choose from, covering all parts of the body. It seems that most products come in pouches. Which I don’t like those, but one can always cut it open to get every last drop of the product.

I did a separate post for the Shell Fuel Rewards card. You can read that one here.

My Writing Process: A Blog Tour

I’m sitting at my local watering hole on a Friday night and Jack of “Frisky in the 916”  messages me to find out if I’m interested in doing this little “Blog Tour.” Sure, I’m buzzed. I’ll do just about anything with a few drinks in me.

1.  What am I working on?

  • Currently I’m attempting to complete the A to Z Challenge that I signed up for. There are only 12 days left. I still need topics for the letters “S, V, X, Y Z.” Hopefully I can come up with something for those letters. If you have any suggestions drop me a line. This is my first year doing this meme, not sure if I’ll do it again next year. This meme is really been a challenge, in a very good way of course.
  • I also just received my VivaVoxBox from Influenster.com. Which contains complimentary products that I will have to give my reviews on via my different social media including a written blog post.

  • I have an non-fictional erotic story that I need to finish soon. I probably will forget how the story line went. Dammit.  You can read my last non-fictional erotic story called “20 Minutes.”
  • I haven’t written anything recently for the Blog for Mental Health Project. I had been writing posts about my issues and experiences. That I recently discovered in the last year. Hoping that I could connect to others like me and find out more about it.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre? Funny, I don’t think I fit into any specific genre. I’ve tried. I write about my personal sexual adventures in regards to my “issues.” Which I guess is not a positive for either genre. Sexual or Mental Health. I share my sexual experiences because I never knew that that’s why I was acting the way I was. Also I think it makes for a hot read – sometimes.  Hoping that perhaps someone can relate or I can prevent someone from doing what I did. I don’t know. I also post a lot of photos of myself, along with lots of shoe shots. I mostly just write about what’s going on in my head. I also mix up some audio (podcast) with some of my written posts. I’ve always enjoyed doing audio more than typing. Not everyone is into listening & not everyone is into reading.

3.  Why do I write what I do? I write the things I do, because it’s what I know to write about. Also hoping to connect with other like-minded people. Those that can relate to what I write about or just having regular readers who enjoy reading what I write about. Another reason I write what I do, maybe some one out there reading it who may feel like they are the only one.  Most people wanna feel like their not totally alone in their situation and experiences. Bottom line, it’s self motivated. I need to share some things to get it off my chest & out of my head. If I write it all down and reread it back to myself, it just might make sense.

4.  How does your writing process work? It doesn’t. I haven’t found my pattern just yet. At times there are so many ideas in my head. I write them down in scribbled notes. Looking at them later I think I can’t write about that! Or OMG how depressing. That sounds crazy. I did use audio for a while just to get the thoughts out of my head. I’m still working on this part of it. I’m not a natural writer. You can tell those hardcore writers, I just wanna get the damn thought out, share it and be done. If I sound like I’m writing like a 17-year-old, well, you can understand it. Simple & straight to the point. I have looked into other ideas of how to write better,  to find a way that works for a mind that suffers with ADHD.

There you have it. Answers to questions that you always wanted to know about your favorite little kitty. Thanks again to Jack of jackandjillcpl for asking me to participate in this writing blog tour. I’m passing this tour onto the following follow bloggers. I do have a variety of bloggers I follow. Please note that they all may write about different topics, some sites may contain adult subject matter.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara [Review]

I'm a Winner I received ScandalEyes Mascara (Extreme Black 003) by Rimmel London from Influenster as a gift for blogging about the JollyVoxBox.  I will start by saying I was thrilled to read that I was getting another product. Upon first seeing this product I wasn’t to thrilled on the background design. The design of the colors with a bull eyes effect. I just think it looks a bit too busy. However its very easy to open.

I received this product as a complimentary gift. I found that the price varies depending on where you shopping. The price ranged from $3.50 to as high as $12.00. I would pay $3-4 but not $12 for this product.

After opening the mascara tube, I noticed that there is a lot of thick mascara on the applicator tip itself. One should be careful applying this mascara. Applying too much at one time could result in clumping, matting and just a messy look. Apply a light coating at first continue with second & third coat to get the full effect.

There is a noticeable difference in the eyelashes after using ScandalEyes Mascara. My eyelashes were darker, thicker looking. Since the applicator brush is hour-glass shaped with a round edge it may difficult to reach the inner eyelashes. The middle and end lashes benefit the most for this product.

My Personal Experience: I didn’t like this product at first because it seemed so thick & wet that it went on too thick. I had to scale back on how much I was applying.  The tube is a bit chunky, about 5 inches in length. The one thing that I truly loved about this product is that I can take a nap wearing it and do not have to worry about waking up with raccoon eyes. There is minimal flaking, no smearing. Just a little touch up and I was good to go again. It did make my eyelashes seem to be thicker &  fuller. The effect longs a few hours, touch up will be needed.  It is messy to wash off, the longer I wore it the more flaking I did notice. It will leave a nice black rub mark on your finger if you rub your eye.  I wouldn’t have purchased this to start, however, I might consider purchasing it now after I have had the opportunity to use it. It’s just that it’s still a bit pricey for me.

JollyVoxBox [Product Review]

I have been a member of Influenster.com since August 2013. I found the site from looking on someone’s blog. I can’t remember who. I was curious, so I signed up. I let the account sit there for a few months. Then I decided to look into further. I answered some of the survey questions, nosed around some profiles. The only thing I really screwed up on was filling out the “Expert Badges” A member can have only 5 of these badges. So, choose wisely Padawan.

I recieved an email from Influenster.com stating that I was eligible for a JollyVoxBox. HUH?!
