Gettin’ it Done

Today I needed to cut the grass before the heat wave hit Northern Illinois.

Since he has been unable to do anything with his hands its up to me to get it done. I’m pretty much doing everything. He bought his new tractor last summer because the push mower hurt his hands and his legs.

I had to learn how to start the Husqvarna. I was getting ready to complete this task by myself. Had my hair did, do-rag on. I even downloaded a song just for the occasion.

“Thank god I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver.

I really had fun, even mowing over the snake.

Share Your World – 2016 Week 29

What is the perfect pizza? Would be ordered from a few of my favorite local pizzeria’s here in my town. On top would be sausage, mushrooms, black olives and pepperoni and lots of cheese.

What is your favorite time of day? Somewhere between 8 am – 10am. The stores are just opening, not a lot of people. It’s the start of the day.

Show us two of your favorites photographs?  The photos can be from anytime in your life span.  Explain why they are your favorite.

[LEFT] was taken while on holiday in England. One of my favorite places, Camden Market. I seen a man with an orange Mohawk, looking like a true punk rocker. I needed a photo, but was too embarrassed to ask. My beloved asked him while I was in a shop picking out a few items to take back home with me. I absolutely love this photo. I never did find out the guys name. [RIGHT] Is a photo of my beloved & I. I added a few filters and really liked the way it came out. HE on the other hand wasn’t too thrilled with the look of it. It caught his slightly serious look with me who is more playful.

Complete this sentence:  I’m looking forward to… getting back into a regular routine.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m grateful for the beautiful weather. Looking forward to another quiet week.

Upwards [Weekly Photo Challenge]

I have been playing around with my camera. I remembered the weekly photo challenge via WordPress.com

This is a photo of my rose-bush that has grown up the side of our house. In the background is my office window of my house.

This rose-bush was the home to a family of Cardinals this spring and was planted by the previous owners of the house. I don’t cut it down in the fall. I just continue to prune it when it hangs into the driveway. I didn’t use any filter with the above photo. It’s about 6 o’clock in the evening.

BELOW: Is a photo of the Maple tree that grew as a weed in our backyard.  They grow everywhere here in Northern Illinois. However, most have those white spots on their leaves and eventually the spots turn black. It’s a fungus that is just part of nature. Under this tree I have part of my patio because now it provides shade for the back corner. I used a few different filters for this photo.

Black Lace Bunny Ears with Veil

Thank you to @5150Silverback for buying this Bunny Ear headband with veil for me from my amazon wish list.

I noticed that this type of “prop” is somewhat popular in some corners of the interwebs. I figured I could add this product to my collection of photo props.

These lace bunny ears are from Icibgoods. The package arrived in a white plastic bag with the ears folded inside a clear plastic bag. The outer ears are formed by a thin wire attached to a headband with the lace veil hot glued at the base of the ears onto the headband.

First thing I noticed is that the lace veil does not hang properly on the face. Due to the way it’s glued to the headband it doesn’t come close to covering my eyes like it shows in the photos. The headband has to be sitting very close to the hairline in order for the veil to look like the photo. I had to pull apart the lace on the headband in order for the veil to hang past my eyes.

What I might end up doing is taking off the face veil completely. Leaving just the lace bunny ears and adding a separate piece of lace to cover my eyes. I do like how the bunny ears are poseable, bendable into any position.

Are these bunny ears worth the $2.95? Ah, no. But then again, you get what you pay for. Just don’t get too excited or expect that your headband might be that perfect one, because it probably won’t be.
