Recently I have received four different supplements from Zenwise Labs. Each product below was provided complimentary for my testing purposes to provide my honest opinion of each product.
100% Natural Sleep Support – Extra Strength Nighttime Sleep Aid Supplement.
I read over the directions, took 2 capsules about 90 minutes before I wanted to fall asleep. I have always had difficulty falling asleep. I’ve tried Ambien and Ambien CR in the past. I did not like the “hungover” feeling I had in the morning. I even used just regular OTC pain relievers to help me get to sleep. I have also tried other non-habit forming sleep aides to get me to sleep, but just didn’t like that feeling of walking in a fog.
About 45 minutes after taking the Sleep Support capsules I felt relaxed. The thoughts in my head seemed quiet. I was yawning and feeling a bit sleepy. A hint of drowsiness, but not too uncomfortable that I wouldn’t have my wits about me.
Looking up the ingredients I noticed there are two (5-HTP & GABA) that are also used in treating ADHD and high pressure, which I have both of those. I have used 5-HTP (in the past) when my Adderall wears off, it helps me relax and keeps me focused just enough to get ready for bed & sleep.
During the night that I had taken the Sleep Support, I had a feeling that I was awake, tossing & turning. Dreaming that I had drank Kava, which I have in the past. I was privileged to experience a Kava ceremony from some acquaintances from Fiji. Both gave me the same feeling of sleepwalking, lucid dreaming and relaxation. The main difference is that I now suffer from Benign positional vertigo. I’m not 100% sure that my vertigo episode was brought on by taking this Sleep Support Supplement. I do know that I haven’t had a vertigo episode in months and about two hours later my vertigo started when I turned my head. When I woke up I didn’t have too much of a foggy feeling. I still have a relaxed, almost emotionally numb feeling. Normally I wake up hyper, loud and ready to go. The numb feeling didn’t last too long, but an hour after I woke up. I was completely fine after that for the rest of the day. I waited one night not to test one capsule versus the two.
What I DON’T Like about 100% Natural Sleep Support – Extra Strength Nighttime Sleep Aid Supplement:
- Had strange, foggy type dreams.
- Didn’t sleep through the night.
- Felt like I was sleepwalking when I got up during the middle of the night (not in the morning)
- Had a dizzy and vertigo episode. (see above)
What I DO like about 100% Natural Sleep Support – Extra Strength Nighttime Sleep Aid Supplement:
- Give me a relaxed, sleepy feeling, enough to fell asleep
- 100% natural
- Non-habit forming
- NO “hangover” or “in a fog” feeling in the morning (IF you allow enough time for it to work out of your system)
- Made in the USA
My spouse also took these Sleep Support Supplements, he had no issues of dizziness nor did he wake up during the night. He told me the next morning that he slept “ok.” That he really didn’t notice a difference. I tried one capsule, instead of the recommended two capsules the following night. I took it around 9pm, probably a little too late on my schedule. My alarm goes off at 5am. I had difficulty getting up and moving. I had that foggy, autopilot feeling. I went to work and about 3 hours after I woke up, I was finally feeling “normal.” If someone needs something to get them relaxed enough to fall asleep I would recommend this, because it does work well for that. If you don’t like that foggy feeling in the morning, make sure you allow yourself enough time for it to work its way out of your system.
I have been taking these Joint Support tablets for about a month now and there is really honestly no difference that I have been able to notice. I have arthritis in my knees, one knee is missing the PCL due to a motorcycle accident. I also have arthritis in other joints, but the knees are the ones that bother me the most.
The season is changing from summer to fall and that means that temperatures are dropping. It’s starting to get damp, rainy in the morning when I head out to work. One day it’s in the 80’s and the next day it’s back to cold & rainy. This type of weather is especially hard on my joints.
I think I have tried this product long enough that it should be in my system to give it an honest opinion. And again I have noticed no significant difference. I just know that lately I have had to wrap my knees up due to the dull ache.
There are 180 tablets in a bottle that is $18.95. Is it worth it? Not sure. Taking 3 of those horse pills, not noticing a difference. For me, it’s a pass. I’ve heard really good things about the main ingredients in this Joint Support. However, just not feeling any different.
What I DON’T Like about: Joint Support Supplement – With 1500mg Glucosamine, 1200mg Chondroitin, MSM & Hyaluronic Acid for Advanced Relief
- I didn’t notice any difference in my joints. I still had to wrap my knees up.
- The tablets are very large.
- Need to take 3 tablets a day
What I DO like about: Joint Support Supplement – With 1500mg Glucosamine, 1200mg Chondroitin, MSM & Hyaluronic Acid for Advanced Relief
- The product is made in the USA
- Made with all natural ingredients.
- No Wheat, Egg, Milk or Peanut.
- Gluten free.
I would suggest taking them all at night, so the body can absorb it all. Besides taking them in the morning (like I did) on an empty stomach is not the most comfortable feeling. Would I recommend Joint Support? Probably, because it’s natural and cheaper than some of the similar products at the local big box stores.
I have been taking Ashwagandha for a while weeks now. I have never heard of this supplement before, so I did some research on it before I took it. Ashwagandha is a root, herb from India, Middle East and Northern Africa. Translated Ashwagandha means “smell of a horse” and traditionally believed that taking it gives the virility of a horse. One of the benefits of taking this supplement is sexual potency for both men and women.
This supplement is taken to relief a number of aliments. From assisting in stress-related ulcers, Parkinson’s Disease, dementia, memory loss, and other stress-induced illnesses. It states that this supplement can also provide a calming effect that can be compared to some anti-anxiety & anti-depressant medications. Maybe be used to ease sooth the nervous system from pain.
What I did not like about: Ashwagandha – All-Natural Root Extract Supplement
- There is not enough documented studies about this supplement.
- I have read different articles with different benefits listed.
What I did like about: Ashwagandha – All-Natural Root Extract Supplement
- Made in the USA
- Natural ingredients
- Pretty easy to swallow
- Meets a few of my needs in just one little capsule. (stress deduction, supports immune & cardiovascular system).
- Price. At $6 a bottle for 120 capsules it’s worth trying. Adding it for that a little extra during the dark winter months.
I would not recommend taking this supplement for a long time due to the lack of scientific studies supporting the marked improvement to one’s health after taking this daily supplement. I can say that I have felt a bit better, mentally since I began taking this supplement. There is however a question of a time when I drank some alcohol and had an issue with bladder control. I am now curious after reading more about this supplement if taking it in addition to my blood pressure medication with a diuretic and the alcohol resulted in my body’s violent reaction. There is no way of knowing for sure due to lack of research about Ashwagandha. I would be very careful taking this supplement in addition to medication prescribed by your physician.
I would rather eat red grapes. Resveratrol is found in the skin of red grapes and red wine. I don’t like wine, so grapes it is. Taking this 2 capsule daily supplement may help to reduce heart disease in addition to a few other illnesses. Once again I had to research this supplement because I had no previous knowledge of it. There are a few good articles about Resveratrol. However in the articles I read there was mention of no clinical studies on humans with either positive or negative results for taking the supplement known as Resveratrol.
This Zenwise product also contains Bioperine, an extract found in black pepper. It assists to absorb nutrients into the intestine. It is said to have an antidepressant effect and assists with the immune system. However, there is a concern of too much bioperine and the interaction with other medication can be dangerous. There is 7 milligrams in Zenwise’s Resveratrol Supplement. A blend of extracts are green tea, grape seed, pterostilbene (found in blueberries, also an antioxidant) and curcumin (a ginger relative, it can help to fight against malignant diseases and chronic illness).
What I DID NOT like about: Resveratrol – 1250 MG Extra Strength Supplements
- There are not a lot of clinical studies proving the benefit of this supplement.
- Upon opening the bottle, there is a hint of cigarettes or tobacco from the extracts used to make the capsules.
- Having to take 2 capsules daily
- At $18 for 60 capsules I have to say it’s not worth buying. Maybe when there is enough medical information that proves taking a Resveratrol Supplement is beneficial to one’s health.
What I DID like about: Resveratrol – 1250 MG Extra Strength Supplements
- Made in the USA
- Made by a company that I am now familiar with.
- Natural ingredients.
- The label states that the statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
I would have to recommend that this supplement be taken with caution, due to the lack of clinical studies on its positive & negative effects on the human body. I have not noticed a difference one way or another. I am taking blood pressure medication again after being off for a few months. My “good” cholesterol was down a number or two, not a major concern yet. I suppose this Resveratrol Supplement might help me a little. Perhaps in a month of two I will know if this helped when I go for my blood work. I think I will consider adding more red grapes to my diet.
